Accessibility

Built to be used by everyone.

Ablepoint supports people with disability, so the platform itself has to work for people with disability. We treat that as a requirement to design to, not a feature to add at the end.

  • Verified workers only
  • Fees shown before you book
  • Designed to be accessible
  • Built and hosted in Australia

What we build to

Every screen is checked against these before it ships.

WCAG 2.1 AA
Our aim on every page: colour contrast, keyboard access, screen reader support and a clear structure.
Plain English
Short sentences, everyday words, one idea at a time, written for a reading age of about twelve.
Large touch targets
Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels high, so they are easy to tap, including with limited movement.
Colour is never the only signal
Every status, error and success message carries an icon and a word as well as a colour.
Full keyboard access
Everything you can do with a mouse, you can do with a keyboard, with a visible marker for where you are.
Reduced motion respected
If your device asks for less motion, our animations turn off.

This is a living commitment, not a finished list

Ablepoint is still being built. Some pages are ahead of others, and we have not had an independent audit yet. We would rather say that plainly than claim more than is true.

Common questions

Does Ablepoint work with a screen reader?

That is what we design and test for. If you find a page that does not work well with yours, tell us the page and what happened, and we will fix it.

How do I report an accessibility problem?

Contact us with the page, what you were trying to do, and what went wrong. We track accessibility reports the same way as any other fault, through to a fix.

Can I use a larger text size?

Yes. Ablepoint is built to stay usable when you zoom your browser in or increase your device's own text size.

Found something that does not work for you?

Tell us. An accessibility report gets the same attention as any other fault, and you will hear back from a person.
