Support workers
How we work together.
The code of conduct sets out what people can expect from every worker on Ablepoint. It is based on the NDIS Code of Conduct, which binds every paid support worker in Australia.
- Verified workers only
- Fees shown before you book
- Designed to be accessible
- Built and hosted in Australia
What every worker agrees to
- Respect
- Act with respect for each person, their rights, their choices and their privacy.
- Safety
- Provide support safely and competently, with care and skill, and never put a person at risk.
- Honesty
- Be honest and open about your qualifications, your availability and your fees.
- Boundaries
- Keep professional boundaries, and never take advantage of a person you support.
- Speaking up
- Raise and act on concerns about the safety or wellbeing of the people you support.
- No violence or abuse
- Take every reasonable step to prevent and respond to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
You accept it when you join, and again when it changes
The code is versioned. You accept the current version during onboarding, and we ask you to accept a new version before you can take bookings under it.
Common questions
What happens if the code is breached?
We investigate every report. Depending on what we find, a worker may be given guidance, suspended while we look into it, or removed from Ablepoint. Serious matters are reported to the authorities.
Is there a code for clients too?
Yes. Everyone on Ablepoint agrees to treat each other with respect, keep agreements and pay on time.
